A note on image selection: Following your session, I will make an initial cull of all the images created and upload them to an online gallery to which you will have access. The number of images in the gallery will differ for each session. It is from this pool of images that you will make your final selections.
A note on retouching: I subscribe to the belief that less is more. My number one priority is to deliver a strong, representative image of the client; as such, I routinely fix stray hairs, remove blemishes, correct skin tone, and make other such minor adjustments to flatter my subject. I am not, however, inclined to manipulate the image in such a way that it is no longer representational — by this I mean making adjustments to a subject’s physique; drastically recoloring a subject’s hair, eyes, clothing, etc.; compositing the subject into an environment other than that in which they were photographed; or other extreme forms of image manipulation. As a general rule of thumb, I’ll fix it if it’s something that may change within a week (acne, abrasions, etc.) or could have been adjusted on set (dandruff, a crease in a garment, etc.); otherwise, I consider it a part of you and thus a part of the photograph. Additional work, such as compositing for group portraits or more advanced retouching may be requested for an additional fee.
